Fun this afternoon playing with my adapted Voigtländer Avus and three month old Poe Boy collodion. I’m using quarter plate glass from some old glass plate negatives I found in a junk shop. I scrub the plates down and re-using them when the fail. I intensify successful ones for a couple of minutes with Ilford Selenium toner at 1+3. I’m using this camera enough now to warrant making a proper focussing screen for it.

Have you made some 3D printed adapter in order to use normal plate holders, 5 minute exposure is quite long for wetplate, but seems that you succeeded . Nicely done.
Hi Raimo,
Yes the 3D printed adapter came from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3449588). I got someone else to print it because I didn’t have a printer back then.
It seems a long time ago that I was doing wet-plate, perhaps because of the COVID years. I struggled with getting enough light. If I remember correctly this is with some compact fluorescent bulbs. Many exposures were up in the minutes.
Funnily enough I was out this morning with a Polaroid 600SE with a very similar 3D printed back to use standard 4×5 holders and some HP5. I’ll try and blog about it later.
